Funeral fund and funeral transport in the Netherlands
Families living in the Netherlands can join Valora Foundation online. From Antwerp, close to the Dutch border, our team coordinates the transport of the deceased from the Netherlands to another European country, or from elsewhere in Europe to the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands the process is usually handled in Dutch. Our team speaks Dutch, Turkish and the other languages of our website, and manages communication between the family and local funeral service providers.
Funeral fund membership vs. immediate repatriation
Valora Foundation membership is a funeral fund: with a one-time registration fee and an annual package you prepare your family in advance. Coverage becomes effective from the second membership year. If a death has just occurred and you are not a member, or your coverage has not started yet, you can still call us: for non-members our services are offered on a case-by-case basis with a specific quote.
How to reach us 24/7
Our multilingual team is available day and night by phone on +32 488 44 55 11 or +32 487 33 36 36. For non-urgent questions, e-mail info@valorafoundation.com. Members, please mention your member number.
How a case-specific transport quote works
Every repatriation is different. The quote depends on the place of death, the destination, the documents required and the family's wishes for the ceremony. Once we have this information you receive a clear quote; optional extras are only arranged with your approval.
Why paperwork depends on the countries involved
In the Netherlands a death is generally registered with the municipality (gemeente), which issues the death certificate. The additional documents needed for international transport depend on the destination country and the circumstances. We therefore clarify the current requirements with the competent authorities for each case rather than quoting a generic list.
What you can share on the call
Share what you have; we will complete anything missing together:
- Full name and date of birth of the deceased
- Place of death (city, country; hospital, home or elsewhere)
- Where the burial or cremation should take place
- Name and phone number of the family contact person
- Valora member number (if any)
- Available documents: ID card or passport, death certificate if already issued
